Event Summary

On a perfect warm, late summer day, members of the CVWS and their guests gathered at Trinité Estate in the Chalk Hill domain of Sonoma County to learn about Acaibo Vineyards.  We were greeted by Gonzague Lurton, who along with his wife, Claire Lurton, started Trinité Estate, which has a range of microclimates, topography and soil. We were led on a tour of the winery by Nicolas Vonderheyden, Production Manager.  After a walk through the hillside vineyards, we were treated to aperitifs including a crisp, well balanced 2018 G&C Lurton Sauvignon Blanc. We then enjoyed a lovely four course lunch with incredible wines from Acaibo and the Lurton’s Château Ferrière in Bordeaux with a few wine surprises thrown in making for a very enjoyable and educational afternoon.
