Event Summary

After a four year hiatus due to the pandemic the Northern chapter of the California Vintage Wine Society hosted the Southern chapter for our bi-annual North/South Weekend in Western Sonoma.

Weekend Events

  • Thursday Kick-off Dinner at Khom Loi
    Khom Loi seeks to deliver a great meal sourced from the bounty of Sonoma County utilizing techniques born with cooks of Thailand.
  • Friday Morning Sparkling Wine at Furthermore
  • Lunch at Lynmar Estate
    Owned by proprietors and friends of Cal Vintage, Lynn and Anisya Fritz, Lynmar’s tasting room is surrounded by serene vineyards and lush gardens.
  • Tasting at Red Car Wine Co.
    Owned by Cal Vintage Southern California chapter member Richard Crowell, Red Car is part of a small cadre of wineries in Sonoma who are fortunate to grow a large majority of their own fruit.
  • Friday Dinner at Russian River Vineyard
    This winery that bears the name of the AVA, focuses on small production runs of single-vineyard wines and was the beautiful site of our Friday dinner.
  • Saturday Lunch and Tasting at Handline
    Housed in a repurposed Foster's Freeze, Handline offers a modern take on order at the counter service. Our lunch included a wine tasting with Ross Cobb one of Sonoma's best winemakers.
  • Tasting at Gracianna Winery
    Gracianna Winery is one of the Russian River Valley’s most intimate family-owned and operated wine estates. Gracianna is in the midst of natural beauty, family-designed estate buildings and has vibrant gardens, a storied history, and a reputation for classic award-winning Russian River wines that reflect its craftsman approach.

    Porter Creek Vineyards is small family winery located on the west bank of the Russian River with a rich history of winegrowing based on innovation, independence, passion and respect for the land.
  • Saturday Dinner at Fern Bar
  • Sunday Brunch and Tasting at Pigasus Vineyards
    Owned by Cal Vintage Southern California members Dale and Amy Harvey, Pigasus is an organically farmed, 15-acre vineyard located in the intersection of the Sonoma Mountain and Bennett Valley AVAs.
